  1. Awwww… lookie there! It’s snow! Wish we could get some here!

I hope that comes across as me laughing my ass off. I can’t believe you got snow but now, really. There isn’t a day in our extended forecast for the next ten days that doesn’t include the phrase “1 – 3 inches” in it…

Did you go out and make some snowballs??

    cjh

  2. CJ, I’m sure you have MORE than your fair share of snow there! Yes, I can hear you laughing your ass off 😉 For us this is a very rare treat! It’s only the third time I’ve ever seen snow believe it or not! Imagine that!

  3. awww, it’s much more than what we get! enjoy your white christmas!

  4. I saw that in the aol news page that comes up when I log on !! Also my lady friend from down there Dee sent me an email totally shocked that it was snowing lol.. you actually have now had more snow than I have so far this year. (not complaining.. ONE decent snow a year is all I require!..like that’s gunna happen, yeahrightsure)

  5. Well I live in the tropics too – we are coming into out storm season (we call them cyclones not Hurricaines) but I have never ever seen snow here in over 30 years. I am very jealous 🙂

  6. I heard that on the news last night and immediately thought of you. Enjoy it while it lasts!

  7. I’d be happy to send you some of ours from here in Minne-snow-ta! 🙂

  8. Very exciting! I’m not one to knock shallow snow falls, I used to get my form group to do snow dances all the way through the cold winter months in the hopes of just a flurry. Or a massive fall that would close the schools… Doesn’t it make everything look wonderful?

  9. Yay, snow! We don’t have any yet. I’m not looking forward to scraping it off car windows and driveway, but my daughter can’t wait to build a snowman, so every day she hopes and I sign in relief. So far. It does always look so pretty the first morning you wake up to snow and see it all untouched.

  10. Yep, I’m laughing! I remember when as a child we moved from SLC to Austin and it snowed and school was canceled. I could not believe it. Back in Utah people wouldn’t even blink. That said, I hate snow.

  11. Aww, it’s like wanna-be winter. Of course, I live on the coast, and snow is but a distant memory for me.

  12. Awesome 😀

You know, it’s actually been snowing in the mountains about one hour to the north of where I live! I know it’s not a good idea to get my hopes up, but I can’t help but wonder, will it be this year that I’ll get my white Christmas at last? Probably not, but it’s good to dream 😛

  13. Valentina, I should learn to take what I can get! I want more though!

Deslily, That’s crazy!! I can’t believe we’ve had more snow here than New Jersey! lol…I hope we get more…it was beautiful!

Sally, That’s sad 😦 Although it’s pretty much like here….I’ve seen snow 3 times in 27 years! Be safe during the cyclone season!!!

Other Chris, It was gorgeous! I wish I would’ve taken pictures earlier, because this one was taken about 2 hours after it stopped snowing. It was even prettier when it was all fresh!

Lezlie, hehe…send it on over! We’d love it!

Stormfilled, I can’t tell you how bad I was hoping that work would call and say that they had to shut down :p They actually did shut down quite a few of the schools though. Hope you get a good snow soon!

Jeane, It reallly is quite pretty. I can see how it would be a royal pain if you had to scrape it all….it didn’t even stick to the pavement here, so we didn’t have to worry about that :p

Natasha, LOL…that’s sad that you hate snow…although you know what? To be honest with you, if I had to drive in it and shovel it all the time, I would hate it too!

Softdrink, That’s exactly what it is! Wanna-be Winter! We never really have a true Winter here in New Orleans…cold weather for us is highs in the low 60’s :p

Nymeth, Oh I hope you get snow this year!!! A few years ago it actually snowed on Christmas Day in New Orleans…that was amazing! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

  14. I didn’t intend to make fun of your snow. Not really. I know how rare it is down that way. I sure hope you enjoyed it! It can be so very beautiful.

  15. I’ll send you more of my Minnesota snow your way, how’s about that!

  16. I love snow! 🙂 Don’t have any right now (Monterey isn’t known for its winters, lol), but as soon as I go home to the Rockies I’m sure it’ll be white. Yay!

  17. I couldn’t imagine only seeing snow three times in my entire life… That just doesn’t compute! I’ve seen snow more than that just this year! lol

If you ever have some extra money and want some snow, you come visit me. Say about February or March. That’s when the Canadians start to get tired of the snow, so remember to pretend that you hate it! I am sure I can find you an extra shovel, heck, I can give you the only shovel and kick back and watch! ha ha ha!

    Enjoy your snow!

  18. How fun! I’d be excited too! 🙂

  19. Laugh? You’re lucky. We rarely get snow here in Georgia. Of course, when we do, we freak out and shut down the schools and everyone’s terrified of driving and it just turns into a big old mess, so maybe that’s a good thing. 🙂

  20. How pretty! That’s what we call “a dusting of snow.” Enjoy! …Or is it already gone? 🙂

  21. Jessi: We get snow ALL the time and people still freak out and are terrified of driving and everything turns into a bit old mess… Just the hint of a snowfall turns the malls into zoos!

  22. I’m not laughing. I’m turning all green. Waaaaaaah! Missed us!!!

  23. It’s more than we’ve gotten in DC this year! Glad you got some to enjoy. Tell the truth – you DID try to make a snowball, right?!

  24. ((((((((((((((((((( O Look, it’s a snowball coming right for you!!! LOL that is a nice dusting of snow, but that’s the term we have for it – doesn’t amount to much up here! WE got a foot of snow last Wednesday! and another few inches today, + freezing rain tonight…..ALL of which I would change in a mo for your Louisiana weather! When you’re tired of Kailana’s house, you can switch provinces and come to ours. We have more snow that stays, and it gets colder. 😀 you could build a real snowman!!! seriously, did yo ever read Smilla’s Sense of Snow, and when she says the Greenland Inuit have something like 50 different words for snow – we have about 20!!!!
Enjoy your snow, dear Chris!! Merry Christmas from Canada! he he

  25. Yikes. 3rd time?? It seems impossible to me that anyone that lives in the same country as I do can only see snow 3 times!! I’m sitting in the middle of a snow storm right now!!

    Enjoy it while it lasts!

  26. Some people think that we have a lot of snow here in Denmark where I live, but it is actually not very often that we have snow for Christmas. It can snow during winter, but often the snow disappears as soon as it has come down. Anyway, what I wanted to say was, that our snow often look like you New Orleans snow.
Btw – I visited New Orleans some years ago and have been dying to come back ever since. Loved your city, really, and can’t wait to return one day.

  27. Wow! It’s been unseasonably warm here in North Carolina. It’s supposed to be in the high 60s all week!

  28. Up here in Tennessee we got your snow starting about 4 that evening. Got about 4 inches but it all melted within 24 hours 😦 My brother in Breaux Bridge said they got a good bit there, enough for him to drag his 4 yr old outside to make a snowman!
